I normally travel during summer time, mostly because I am one of those freckled face – sun chasing – water babies, who just can’t get enough of sun kissed salty skin! But since seasons change yet my love for travel remains, here I am slowly finding myself quite drawn to the simple yet endearing charm of Autumn.
A couple of months ago, I was in Europe worshipping the glorious Santorini sun, exploring the exotic cities of Turkey and enjoying quality family time in Sweden. Fast forward to October, here I am in yet another Scandinavian country. This time in Denmark; and this time in Fall.
The cool breeze, the smell of freshly fallen leaves, the bright autumn colors, people in long coats and knee high boots welcoming the start of Halloween whilst slowly oozing with Holiday cheer – all these and more add to that odd warmth you feel as you set foot in the beautiful city of Copenhagen.
To celebrate my first weekend in the city, I spent the entire Sunday morning in Copenhagen’s Botanical Garden. With all honesty, my boyfriend picked this “touristy spot” out of all the other museums in our day’s list, mostly because it sounded the “least” stiff for him to spend the day in. ? But huge thanks to his better judgement, we chanced upon this what could’ve been the perfect setting for some classic fairy tale, or even some dreamy first date scene!
The Botanical Garden goes way back since the 1600’s and stretches upto 10 hectares of mighty green goodness! So despite it being a popular tourist spot, its vastness makes you feel so small yet intimate with nature. Top that with awesome fall weather that’s pretty much responsible for the bright colors around. This spot was truly worth the morning visit.
Safe to say I have fallen for fall! Being around so much beauty and embraced by the ironic warmth of the cool breeze – make you realize just how amazing the outdoors truly is! Hope I was able to share even a tad bit, just how gorgeous a fall morning is.
